Schumacher SC1364: fit answers for a wheeled 12 V charger
The SC1364 is a mains-powered charger with separate charge, Boost and Engine Start jobs. Its manufacturer page identifies the exact retail model and lists 12 V output; the directly linked instructions describe lead-acid Standard/AGM modes, a 6 A/2 A Charge/Maintain selector and automatic maintenance. Check the delivered model label and manual because one package bullet on the page names a different model and the linked manual cover uses family codes.
12 V AGM charging with a 6 A minimum
Answer: The SC1364 documents a 12 V AGM charging plan with a 6 A/2 A Charge/Maintain selection. The 6 A figure is a selectable capability, not a claim of continuous output or a safe-rate recommendation for every battery. Its 20 A Boost and 150 A Engine Start are separate modes and do not raise the ordinary-charge figure. Compare the battery maker's rate guidance and confirm the delivered panel and manual. See the same-condition 12 V AGM, portable one-bank 6 A minimum matches, then read the SC1364 assessment.
Automatic maintenance after charge
Answer: The linked instructions say that after automatic charging the unit enters maintain mode and supplies a small current when needed; they also call for occasional monitoring. They do not publish a fixed continuous float-current figure. The 2 A selector must not be treated as a measured float rate. The model is a capability match for a portable, single-output 12 V AGM maintenance job, subject to the battery maker's instructions. See every same-condition 12 V AGM maintenance match and review the manual and source limitations.
Portable plug-in does not mean compact or weatherproof
Answer: The SC1364 is a wheeled, 120 V AC charger with one visible clamp pair, not a fixed on-board unit or multi-bank charger. Schumacher's image shows the basic arrangement; its stated six-foot lead reach is not a measurement by this site. The instructions say to keep it ventilated and dry, avoid rain or snow, and remove marine batteries for shore charging. See portable one-bank matches. For two independent battery outputs, compare portable two-bank matches instead.
When another charger is the better answer
The SC1364 has no documented 6 V or lithium plan, no universal amp-hour charge ceiling, no confirmed ingress rating and no fixed maintenance-current value. Its 150 A Engine Start mode requires the unit to be plugged in and a battery installed in the vehicle; it is not a self-contained jump pack. Do not infer a subtype from the manual's “Standard” label: AGM is the explicit subtype mapped here. If any missing capability is essential, leave it unresolved rather than assuming the model will cover it.
